Subject: Report Proposal for the future service offerings of Verizon Wireless

Verizon wireless has led the wireless industry by projecting itself as a reliable service provider. Until recently, Verizon Wireless' appeal has not been flashy, cutting-edge phones. In fact Verizon has built a solid customer base by attracting businesses and individuals looking for uninterrupted, dependable coverage. The phones and applications have always been an afterthought for customers of Verizon wireless. I propose to write a report on how Verizon can attract new customers by easing network restrictions and offering popular phones.

Needs

Mobile phones have become more than just tools for communicating.

· Mobile phones are being used to access multimedia content such as streaming video and audio.
· Customers are using third-party applications such as Google maps to replace devices such as the GPS.
· Mobile phone service providers such as AT&T and Sprint have opened up to developers to improve the capability of devices on their network.

Apple's Iphone has broken cell phone sales records not only because it is a cool phone, but because of the freedom the AT&T network gives its customers in customizing their cellular devices. Iphone owners have hundreds of thousands of apps they can load onto their phones for tasks such as managing personal finances or tracking an exercise routine. As a client of Proximity, Verizon Wireless needs this report to understand the steps it needs to take to attract Gen-Y consumers.

Topics

The proposed report "Verizon Wireless: More Than Reliable Phone Service" will cover the following topics:

· Increased data usage.
· Verizon's new 4G network.
· The importance of open networks.
· The iPhone
The report will also include attachments on customer retention, new customer subscriptions, customer data usage and phone sales.
